| FEW WORDS ABOUT JANA |
I am full time internet designer from Prague. I never studied any art school, but somehow miracle happend and till today I
illustrated more than 40 books mostly in fantasy, medieval or adventure style. Well, but I have more wide range of personal
styles from colorfull realistic aquarels to more free travel or eastern influenced pictures. I strictly part my work
as designer and illustrator, so please never ask me to do digital job, ask my company first.(Symblaze)
Sailing and China :-)
Except painting and designing I am amateur harpist and I loves sea sailing on historical boats. I am also very interested in
chinese art and traditional music and from 2010 I learns chinese. During my life, wind of my inner instinct moved
me to unexpected places, so I had been dancing, writing short stories and had a fun with sculpting,
painting murals, decorating all around and discovering thousands ways of art.
Folk harp
My big passion is folk harp. I am not big musician, but I play with heart and love to play and remind people that
once in a past there was big czech harp tradition which is completly forgotten. So I am glad that I was part of
big revival, organising festivals for new harpists, giving lectures about harp history and seeing how number
of harpists is growing. Currently I play with band Harpa Vieja!
How I paint
90% of my paintings are watercolors on colored paper. For black and white works I use chinese black ink and brush. Because of daily job, I am able to do only limited number of bookcovers during year.
